Super Lucky Awesome Sisters!

My sister Rosanna is going to the 2010 Olympics for biathlon!

My younger sister Rosanna (she's 21, my brother is 23 and I'm 26) and I have always felt part of our own special club which we took to calling "Super Lucky Awesome Sisters" the past few years. With notes, cards and 4-leaf clover pendants tucked in each others bags before trips we have encouraged each other and been supportive through the highs and lows of the past 4 years.

We have both struggled with various injuries and health issues... this time last year we were both sidelined as I had problematic ankles and Rosanna had a sped up heart rate that required an operation in December 08. The adversity has made us both stronger and more mature, I think. Over the past 4 years we've grown together and I learned to not try and be her coach; just be her sister and dole out the same unconditional love that our parents gave us and my brother, Jordan, who is a chef in Canmore.

Here are some photos of me cheering like crazy for her in today's final Olympic selection race. Every second counts and I've always found it helpful to have the cheering drown out the doubts. In the second photo I had to whip off my jacket for aerodynamic speed cheering as I ran beside her on part of her last lap. She did it!

I am the runt of this fine litter. Crawfs are giants. Devon seems to think that this means my genetics will contribute to our unborn childrens' hockey and alpine racing potential.

Meanwhile I recently posted an update on my last two weeks events on bbychandracrawford.blogspot.com

Thanks for all the support of our family here in Canmore and all the encouragement that makes stuff like this possible,
