Mercifully, "So when you head over?" has replaced "Are you ready?" as the number one question I get asked around town these days.
I will be flying to Vancouver on February 12th. I will get my accreditation at the airport and chat with the media there then go to the Athlete's Village to pick up my Team Canada swag and catch a bus to the opening ceremonies. I'm the only one from my team going as most of the crew is racing the next day and need to get ready for that.
I'm racing the classic sprint on the 17th for sure. Beyond that I hope to be on the Feb 22nd Freestyle team sprint and February 25th 4x 5 km relay but with our strong women's team I'll just have to wait and see what the coaches decide. If there's a start available in the 30km classic on the 27th... it's not my strong suit but there's no way I'll pass up an opportunity to race around with the Olympic rings on my bib.
My main man Devon will be doing 5 events of a possible 6, with podium potential in the sprint relay and 4 x 10km relay.
My sister, Rosanna, is competing on different days so I will likely catch one of her races. She is training with the biathlon team in Mt Washington on Vancouver Island and then going straight to the Games. Her schedule is here.
In the meantime, don't forget World Cups in Canmore this weekend! I will be racing in the classic sprint on Saturday at 10:30 am and 12:15 pm. www.albertaworldcup.com
Following the awards downtown at the Civic Center my BBFFs (Best Buy Fast Females) and I will be hosting the first "Urban" event in the organizations 5 year history. With a live performance from Drum Cafe and a Zumba Dance sesh to get warmed up we will then take to the streets where The Rotary Nordic Games will have two city blocks of snow laid out and groomed.

Mallory Deyne of Timmins, ON is organizing the ski games - so much piZAZZ!

Clara Joy Strum is on the Confirmed List, go here to register for this free event while spaces last!
