My month off of training and racing is flying by. There have been Fast and Female events all over Canada thanks to our stylin' ambassadors who have been inspiring girls in Ottawa (Perianne Jones), Burn's Lake, BC (Rosanna Crawford), and Yellowknife, NWT (Sarah Daitch). Amazing events, amazingly inspiring leaders and participants! Thank you to all who have been sharing the love.
With spring here it's time for everyone to focus on Share the Road... Devon and I will be in Toronto next week for a fundraiser for Share the Road (see below) and on Thursday will be attending a Western-themed Hoedown fundraiser for Wellspring and their network of cancer support centers. Friday the 23rd we will join 200-odd fellow Olympians for a parade and party in Montreal.
Following this tour of giving our time to our favorite causes and gallivanting with friends, Devon and I look forward to getting back in to training mode May 1st. The "off-season" for a cross country ski racer is 30 days long and it goes by fast!

The Share the Road Cycling Coalition invites you to an evening with Olympic Cross Country skiers Devon Kershaw and Chandra Crawford.

Devon first joined forces with Share the Road last year when he and Coalition Founder and CEO Eleanor McMahon organized a Share the Road Ride in Devon’s hometown, Sudbury (July 2009) in memory of Devon’s girlfriend and former national teammate Sophie Marin who was killed on a training ride on her bike in Sudbury on June 3, 2001.
Devon has dedicated time and energy to promoting the work of the Share the Road Cycling Coalition and on the evening of April 21st, will inspire attendees with details of his Olympic performance in Vancouver and his passion for the values of "sharing the road", and the work of the Coalition.
Share the Road Rides have been held in Burlington since 2006, in memory of Ms. McMahon’s husband and former OPP Sergeant Greg Stobbart, killed on a training ride on June 6, 2006. In brief remarks, Eleanor will outline progress made by the Coalition on building a Bicycle Friendly Ontario including details on first time Share the Road Rides planned for Canmore, home of the national cross country ski team, and Ottawa.
